Station Update

Dear friends, listeners, and community partners,

It is with sadness and gratitude that the Board of Directors must announce that Alyssa Pearson has tendered her resignation as General Manager of Radio Boise, effective Friday, May 12th, 2023.

Alyssa joined Radio Boise in January of 2022 and has worked diligently to achieve her goals. Her leadership during the last two years’ Treefort Music Festivals helped transform Radio Boise’s presence and fundraising efforts from previous years. Between selling our own drinks last year to having the Bandshell for this year’s Radioland, Radio Boise was able to raise thousands of dollars in revenue.

In December, Alyssa was able to organize, with the help of many volunteers and staff, the most successful Practice New Years Eve that Radio Boise has seen since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Not only did Radio Boise raise over $10k in funds from the event, but we were all able to come together again as a community to build relationships, have some good old-fashioned fun, and listen to rockin’ music.

Over the course of her tenure, she has increased the stations fundraising capacity through revamping existing events and producing new opportunities throughout the year, fostered open and transparent communication with the public and the Board of Directors, created and implemented necessary HR policies and procedures, and given rise to a new phase of financial stability to the station.

We are very grateful to Alyssa for the work she has done for the station. We wish her well in her next endeavors and look forward to continuing to work with her in whatever new capacity that may look like in the future.

Looking at the path ahead, we are excited to announce that Nichole Marie Albertson-Winkle will be taking the position of General Manager of Radio Boise, effective Friday, May 12th, 2023.

The Board unanimously supported approaching Nichole with an offer for the position. After meeting with her, we are confident that she will continue to lead the station towards our mission as a community-led radio station and further our efforts to establish long-term financial stability.

Nichole has been involved with Radio Boise for the last 10 years, and has served in various capacities as a programmer, volunteer, and as Radio Boise’s Music Director. In addition to being a long time supporter of the station, her experience as a self-employed business owner, her knowledge gained from working and participating in the broadcasting industry for many years, and her deep connections to the Boise music community are all invaluable to the station.

Members of the Board will continue to work with both Nichole and Alyssa to ensure that Nichole has what she needs to make a smooth transition into her responsibilities. We are thrilled to welcome her in this new capacity and look forward to the growth of Radio Boise under this new leadership.
