In response to the pandemic, the Snake River Raptor Fest has gone virtual in 2020! This year’s online festival features a selection of raptor-themed kids’ activities, presentations, panel discussions, live music and more.
Radio Boise will be bringing our listeners a curated selection of festival activities throughout the week. Listen for our Raptor Fest special programming:
Radio Boise is also spearheading a special Raptor Haiku Contest in honor of the 2020 event.
Join our Community Education and Content Director Jennifer Jerrett for a Zoom conference at 3 PM Monday, June 1 to learn how to submit your original recorded haiku to the station.
Can’t join the live session?
1. Write an original, raptor-inspired haiku (remember, three lines of 5, then 7, then 5 syllables).
2. Use a smartphone or audio recorder to record yourself reciting your haiku (.wav files are best, but .mp3s work too. Include your name and where you’re from on your recording.)
3. Name your file with the title of your haiku and your last name. E-mail your file to jennifer@radioboise.org (be sure to include your contact info).
Selected haikus will broadcast on KRBX and the winning entry will be awarded a special prize to be announced at the conclusion of the festival. Questions?
