Radio Boise (KRBX 89.9 / 93.5 FM), the Treasure Valley’s only non-profit, community radio station, is expanding its studio space in order to offer additional in-house performances, auxiliary production and workshop areas, an artist lounge and a community meeting room.
“Thanks to continued evolution of our programming, we’re now at max capacity in our existing footprint,” said Jessica Evett, station General Manager. “Exciting chances like this – nearly doubling our space in the Alaska Center – don’t come around often.”
With the extra legroom, Radio Boise will be able to better host Treefort Music Fest hospitality, its Couch Surfer Artist Series and other live audience events, podcasting classes and other opportunities to grow its on-air presence and community outreach.
Evett continued, “This addition is a sensible way to establish our long-term identity and expand our ability to be a true hub of diverse music, culture and local information for our community, all while remaining in downtown Boise.”
Currently, Radio Boise is raising funds to solidify and fill its new space with community-centered programming to boost overall capacity. The station’s Fall Radiothon campaign runs Wednesday, October 2 – Friday, October 11, 2019. Donations can be made at 208-258-2072 or securely online.
The region’s sole free-form, non-commercial station, KRBX Radio Boise provides over 65 live and local music and public affairs programs each week. For more information on Radio Boise or its volunteer-driven mission, click here.
