Fall Radiothon Matching Gift Challenge

Consider Pitching in with a Matching Gift Before October 16th to Excite New Donors, Support Your Favorite DJs, and Make Community Radio Stronger!

Over the past two years, 60 individuals have provided a pool of matching gifts in advance of our Fall Radiothons, raising $21,500 for Radio Boise while inspiring new donors to become first-time donors, monthly sustainers, and new Hi-Fi Society members who know their own contributions will be matched dollar-for-dollar.

To say that it’s had an impact on our ability to remain independent would be an understatement!

Bringing in new donors is absolutely critical for any community radio station, and matching gifts offered up by other individuals and organizations increase the chance that someone else will give to a charitable cause by 71%.

Gifts of any size given toward the Fall Radiothon Matching Gift Challenge will be matched by others who share your sense of commitment to independent, free-form radio who are more likely to take action when they are given an additional and truly meaningful incentive to make that call or donate online.

What will your challenge gift fund?

We’ve got a crew scheduled to make a final repair to our broadcast antenna out at Owyhee Ridge, and total cost for this critical fix will be $15,000. Once this repair is complete, we’ll get reconnected with outlying communities who aren’t able to pick up 89.9 FM when we’re only broadcasting at half power.
In 2019, we have plans for holding at least four podcasting workshops open to members of the community who are interested in producing 3-4 minute long interviews and audio pieces that will be broadcast on Radio Boise as part of our Voices Project. Your support will put media in the hands of the people and create content that connects, inspires, and challenges.
