Radio Boise’s Voices Project aims to put more voices on the airwaves through empowering citizens to become audio storytellers.
In this episode, we explore folklife in the Treasure Valley. Created during a workshop in partnership with the Idaho Commission on the Arts’ Folk Arts Program, this series features people in our community who carry on traditions and culture.
The workshop started with an overview of folklife studies. Then our storytellers conducted long-form oral interviews to contribute to the Idaho Commission on the Arts Folk & Traditional Arts Community Scholar Program.
Material from those interviews was then used to produce radio features for broadcast with production assistance from Radio Boise.
This project was made possible by a partnership with the Idaho Commission on the Arts with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
