Couch Surfer Series Season 6: October 11th

Please join us for this excellent October lineup!

Presented by Radio Boise, the Couch Surfer Series is a powerful night of performance and discussion with writers, artists and musicians. Held every second Tuesday of the month September – February, creators will talk about their craft, path, inspiration, why and how they do what they do, as well as perform songs, poetry, and excerpts of their creative endeavors for a live audience. (Think NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts blended with Fresh Air.)

Doors open at 5:00 PM; Couch Surfing begins at 6:00 PM and runs until 8:00 PM with a short intermission. Food and drink will be available for purchase.

General Admission Tickets are $20. Tickets are limited. This year we will also be offering exclusive VIP Tickets, which include a complimentary beverage and cheese board. Season Passes are available as well!

All proceeds go to the featured artists and Radio Boise.

Leta Harris Neustaedter, musician/actor

Leta Harris Neustaedter, LCSW is an arts educator, musician, actor, community builder, and clinical social worker. She owns Metamorphosis Performing Arts Studio, LLC where she maintains a private counseling practice and life skills into music and acting classes. She scratches her musical itch in a multitude of ways– as a soloist, in bands, and with the Boise Philharmonic Master Chorale. She is a two-time Alexa Rose Grant Recipient for music studies and composition. She is also an Idaho Commission of the Arts Certified Change leader.

 

 

Lyd Havens, author

Lyd Havens graduated with a BFA in Creative Writing from Boise State University. Her poetry has been published in Ploughshares, Poetry Northwest, and New Delta Review, among others. She is the author of the chapbooks Chokecherry (Game Over Books, 2021) and I Gave Birth to All the Ghosts Here (Nostrovia! Press, 2018). Born in Tucson, Arizona, Lyd has now lived in Boise for over six years. She’s currently working as a copy editor by day and writing a full-length poetry collection by night.

 

 

Allison Maier, moderator

Allison Maier is a writer with a background in newsrooms, nonprofits, and libraries. She loves talking about the creative process and has interviewed artists for magazines, podcasts, and Storyfort events. Her own stories have been featured at Story Story Night, Scaryfort, Death Rattle Writers Festival, and a handful of other local literary gatherings.
