Fall Radiothon 2020: Sustain Your Signal

Radio Boise (KRBX 89.9 / 93.5 FM) kicks off its two week Fall Radiothon fundraiser Wednesday, October 14 in order to sustain the Treasure Valley’s only non-profit, community radio station.

β€œThis year just further proves the ongoing power of local radio,” said Jessica Evett, Radio Boise’s General Manager. β€œProviding our community an oasis into music, culture and discussion will always be a need and we’re thrilled we can be that resource.”

That’s why Radio Boise is asking for public support to make sure its signal continues to reach and impact all those who look towards the station for stability and excitement.

β€œAs one of 2020’s only constants and beacons of normalcy, we’ve experienced a steady outpouring from longtime fans and recent discoverers on how our broadcast has really helped steady and boost their moods,” Evett continued.

The station’s semi-annual Radiothons have historically been open-door celebrations, full of on-air surprises and specialty programming, where anyone was invited to visit the KRBX studio and hang out while making a contribution. For this drive, the station is reminding the community of its longtime mission: to elevate underrepresented voices and give deserving artists a platform to connect.

Evett believes that connectedness is key to sustaining a healthy community.

β€œWith some losses to income anticipated to last until the spring, the station has set a fundraising goal of $65,000 to sustain its people-power in the months to come. This will meet essential costs for the station and ensure that valued programming continues to thrive throughout the winter.”

Radio Boise’s Fall 2020 fund drive runs Wednesday, October 14 – Tuesday, October 27.

Donations can be made online at radioboise.org, by texting KRBXGIVE to 44321 on your cell phone or by mailing a gift to 1020 W. Main Street, Suite 50, Boise, Idaho 83702. Listeners can also call 208-258-2072.

The region’s only non-profit, free-form station, KRBX Radio Boise provides 70 live and local music and public affairs programs each week. To listen, tune into 89.9 FM (across the Treasure Valley), 93.5 FM (in Downtown Boise) or visit radioboise.org (for worldwide streaming).
