Couch Surfer Series – Kat Falcone and Tomas Baiza with Christian Winn (Oct 4)

A Radio Boise and Rediscovered Books collaboration featuring spontaneous mash-ups between musicians and writers.

Join us for an evening of music and muses starring local musician Kat Falcone and local writer Tomas Baiza. Christian Winn, the original creator of the series, will be in conversation with both artists where they both get to share their writing and discuss their process. The end of the evening will include an impromptu collaboration you won’t soon forget! See you there!

The Couch Surfer Series will be ongoing through February 2027 on the first Sunday of each month and will feature different local creatives. Don’t miss out on this unique and memorable opportunity to support your local community.

About Kat Falcone:
Kat Colt emerged from an ancient bog with a song in their heart and a fascination with toads, long-nosed gar, and other tragic creatures.
They are also the front person of glam metal band The Mall Goth Moths (est. 1914).
Drawing from a lifelong background in music, Kat’s work is rooted in storytelling, the devotion to the unknown, and the once-in-a-lifetime experience of being alive (for now).

About Tomas Baiza:
Tomás Baiza is the author of Delivery (Running Wild Press, 2023), A Purpose to Our Savagery (RIZE Press, 2023), and Mexican Teeth (Inlandia Books, 2026). Tomás’s work has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, Best of the Net, Best American Short Stories, and the O. Henry Prize. Delivery and Mexican Teeth have been accepted into the holdings of the Library of Congress Center for the Book, and Mexican Teeth was selected as a winner of the 2026 International Latino Book Award for Best Cultural & Community Themed Book. Tomás has been stalked by wild dogs while hitchhiking in Mexico, was once escorted by security out of the Pebble Beach & Tennis Club, and had the privilege of delivering a dozen pizzas to a Klingon-themed orgy at a sci-fi convention.

About Christian Winn:
Christian Winn is a fiction writer, poet, teacher of creative writing, and producer of literary events living and working in Boise, Idaho. He served as the Idaho Writer in Residence, the State’s highest literary honor, from 2016-19, is the co-founder and Director emeritus of Storyfort, co-founder of To Taste Life Twice, the co-founder and producer of Campfire Stories, Couch Surfer Artist Series, and Story Forward. His work has appeared in McSweeney’s, Ploughshares, Joyland, Glimmer Train, The Chicago Tribune’s Printer’s Row Journal, and many fine journals. His story collections, NAKED ME, and What’s Wrong With You is What’s Wrong With Me are out in the world, and his novels, AMENDS and CROCODILE, are currently under consideration and will, when the writerly spirits align here very soon, be out in the world.
