Radio is For Everyone!
WE DID IT!
Or, more accurately, YOU DID IT. You came through, you heard our call. You upped your monthly donation, started new monthlies or became new donors. You told others about us. You graced the airwaves with your guest spots. You donated your time. For that profound outpouring we thank you!
Fund drives are a bit like relay races on choppy seas. The tides are unpredictable. Some of the transitions are not perfect. A few days look more foreboding than others. But one thing we do know, you were there for us. By 10am on Wednesday, April 24th, we had made our goal of 70k, and we cannot thank you enough for it.
What’s next? In the near term, our Radiothon Wrap Party that takes place Saturday, April 27 at 7pm at the Shrine Social Club (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/smokey-brights-rhodes-hulls-magic-band-tickets-874176243677?aff=oddtdtcreator). Please come by and hoist a toast with us, because it’s you we certainly are celebrating. (HiFi Society members get in for free, you should have an email in your inbox with a special code). Beyond that, look for more events, more Radio Boise appearances in the community, special KRBX Presents concerts, one day celebratory “micro” fund drives.
Also know that as long as we are an extension of this community, we will always be evolving. We love your feedback, but we also love any ideas you have for us to supplement our income and keep freeform, people powered radio coming into your receivers. Of particular importance to us are opportunities for more passive income: grants, sponsorships, employer donation matching programs and more. If you have any of these leads, please contact (info@radioboise.org). Seeking financial balance is something we strive to do better at, and we believe, with your help, we can get there.
But now, time to celebrate! Please take a moment to thank yourself for contributing to the cultural health of the Treasure Valley and beyond. Some say they can’t imagine a Treasure Valley without Radio Boise and we certainly agree. And if we see you Saturday at the Radiothon Wrap Party featuring Seattle’s Smokey Brights and Boise’s own Rhodes Hull’s Magic Band at Shrine Social Club, the praise for all you do and all you help us create, is on us!
