2019 Volunteers of the Year Awards!

Celebrating the 2019 Radio Boise Award Winners:

Eric “EJ” Johnson, Volunteer of the Year

“EJ is a volunteer extraordinaire. The first in and last out. Whether it is the last minute / in a pinch needs in order for the show to commence (or go on), organizing that overwhelming storage room or heading a pit boss shift in the wee hours of the morning, EJ is true blue. He embodies all the things lovable about Radio Boise: fun, funny, charitable and a lover of music and people. We don’t know where we’d be without him.” -Debra Cooper, Volunteer & Events Coordinator

(Oh yeah, he was just certified as an official KRBX programmer… so you’ll be hearing him on-air a lot more often than only during Radiothons!)

Holly “DJ Feelings” Johnson Wallace, Programmer of the Year

“Holly Johnson Wallace, or DJ Feelings as you might know her, has been around the Radio Boise airwaves long enough for us to fully count on her quality. First, she started as a substitute DJ, created perhaps the best show promo in the history of KRBX (“I play certain kinds of polka”) and eventually became a weekly DJ when long time Sunday Soul Party host, Dusty C, moved to Saturdays. You can hear her musical versatility on display every Sunday, but you might also hear her subbing for everything from femme Rock (Femme Fatale) to Indy (The Rapture) to, yes, should we ever have those style of programs, certain kinds of Polka, banjo music, lyre jams and barbershop quartets.” -Wayne Birt, Program Director

Chelle Nystrom, Board Member of the Year

Chelle Nystrom joined the Radio Boise Board of Directors in 2016, and has served as its volunteer treasurer since 2017.

“We’re so fortunate to have someone like Chelle on our board. Her depth of knowledge and approach has been deeply appreciated by our staff and board for years, and we are so thankful for her steadiness, responsiveness and good cheer.” –Jessica Evett, General Manager

After earning her Bachelor of Science in Finance from Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Chelle started her career in a mergers and acquisitions firm doing corporate valuations. For the last 20 years, she has been providing consulting, systems implementations and accounting for small and medium sized businesses.

Chelle enjoys sharing her business background with organizations that build and strengthen communities and feels lucky to have the opportunity to work with Radio Boise. Music fuels her life. When she is not working, you can find her on the trails or on a bike – training for her next adventure.
