Radio Boise receives $24,000 from Idaho Women’s Charitable Foundation

BIG NEWS:

April 29 – Radio Boise is proud to announce that the Idaho Women’s Charitable Foundation (IWCF) has awarded us $24,000 in grant funds for radio broadcast equipment [Statesman article].

IWCF’s donation provides matching funds that will leverage a federal grant – effectively securing $96,000 for broadcast equipment to initiate Radio Boise’s locally programmed, noncommercial radio signal on 89.9 FM.

Radio Boise was one of only seven local nonprofit projects awarded funds from 118 funding queries. It is extremely gratifying to know that local philanthropic organizations such as IWCF understand the essential role that independent, community-based radio will play in the Treasure Valley. We appreciate the foresight and trust that IWCF has demonstrated in awarding these funds.

Radio Boise is seeking an additional $65,000 in funding as part of our 2010 capital campaign goal to ensure station construction by April of 2011. For the rest of the year, each dollar in tax-deductible donations will be matched with three federal dollars.
