The Invasion

Soulstice '08 Street Scene

Who knew there could be that much Soul in "Soulstice"?

The only other question we had from everyone after the last beer was raised and the final note was strummed was: "How can you guys make this happen all the time?"

All we can say is: "Stay tuned!"

Our sincerest of thanks go out to ALL the musicians, DJs and support crews that gave their unconditional energy and enthusiasm in the name of Media Democracy: The Very Most, DJ Art Hodge, Lo Fi, DJ Pat Benolkin, The Invasion, The Steve Fulton Band, ATTN, The Universal and the rest of their respective posses!

Additionally, BCR would like recognize the significant contributions of all the volunteers that came out to lend a hand as well as Dave Krick, Scot Oliver and Tamara Cameron for overseeing logistical planning, Professor Art Hodge for recruiting and organizing our stellar lineup, Larry Bishop - soundman extraordinaire, Steve Fulton for sound gear and Sir David Foster for engineering the webcast. Thanks also to Carlos at The Mai Thai Group, Bittercreek/Red Feather and CCDC for additional support.

FCC Urged to Probe Pentagon Propaganda Program -

Lawmakers are urging the Federal Communications Commissions to investigate the Pentagon's propaganda program to determine if the major TV networks or the Pentagon-backed analysts violated federal law.

Democracy Now!'s Amy Goodman speaks with FCC Commissioner Michael Copps on the issue.

"It is clear that we need to start over
on these [media ownership] rules and this time make it our goal to protect the people's interest in the people's airwaves."

--FCC Commissioner
Michael Copps, 2004

Five questions to ask when turning on your radio:

  • Is corporate radio giving me what I want?
  • Am I ready for something different?
  • Do I have a voice in my community?
  • Am I looking for diversity in musical programming?
  • Do I want to hear about local and global issues rarely reported in commercial media?

Boise Community Radio Mission:
Boise Community Radio aims to cultivate a stronger sense of "Place" in the Treasure Valley by providing an unprecedented diversity of locally produced, high quality audio programs to inform, energize and educate its listeners.

Through an inclusive approach to broadcasting in the region, BCR will uphold programming principles designed to inspire creative discussion and enhance social, cultural and environmental awareness by providing music, entertainment, and community affairs programming to underserved communities within the broadcast area.
