Get involved

Radio Boise runs on volunteers, from the people hosting your favorite shows to the crew promoting our station at local concerts. More than 140 volunteer programmers keep our signal running crystal clear, and many more help behind the scenes. Got a few hours and want to help keep community radio going? We'd love to have you.

ways to get involved

  • Events: Help set up and staff Radio Boise table

  • Radiothon and fundraising: Answer phones, thank donors, and help with our biggest fundraising drives of the year.

  • Station support: Pitch in with organizing the music library and editing shows.

  • Special skills: Have experience in audio engineering, tech, video, graphic design, photography, writing, or social media? Tell us. We’d love to put your expertise to good use.

  • Become a programmer: Want your own show? Volunteering is a great way to get to know the station. We share programmer openings and training opportunities with our volunteers as they come up.

No experience needed. We'll show you the ropes. All you need is some free time and a love for independent radio and the Boise community.

Why Volunteer?

You'll meet people who love music and the local community as much as you do, get a behind-the-scenes look at how a radio station works, and help keep local, independent media alive and thriving in the Treasure Valley.

Does Your Employer Support Volunteering?

Many companies offer paid volunteer time or volunteer grants, which are donations to nonprofits based on the hours their employees volunteer. Check with your HR department to see if your employer has a program. Your time at Radio Boise could turn into extra support for the station!

We're happy to help track your hours or fill out any paperwork your employer needs. Just email [email protected].

For employer forms, our legal name is Boise Community Radio Project, and our EIN is 02-0681097.

Represent a non-profit?

Request a psa

Radio Boise donates airtime to local nonprofits for public service announcements. If your organization wants a PSA read on air, tell us about it below.

Submit Your Show Proposal

Unless you have a burning appetite to come on at 3am (which we welcome!), Radio Boise is not taking show proposals at this time.

However, show openings do occur, but the best way to get started is to volunteer with Radio Boise. Being an on-air programmer is all about consistency, so volunteering with us in other capacities gives us a chance to get to know you.
