Sound Makers of Great Talent and Skill,

Radio Boise has begun collaborating with local musicians to create unique music beds. These music beds will appear under Radio Boise underwriting, imaging pieces, and promos, serving to enhance Radio Boise’s overall sound. All local musicians who contribute to this project will be featured on our dedicated webpage with links to their website, bandcamp page, preferred video, and a press-ready image as desired.

What Radio Boise is looking for: Anything you want to lay down for, say, a half-hour session. We are looking for 30-60 second bits. They can be short compositions or snippets from longer pieces. These don’t have to be songs formed ahead of time–they can be jams, riffs, focused noodling. Out of these sessions, Radio Boise will use “pieces” for their production department.

Types of music: The most common types of music we are looking for are lighter rock, rock with a bit of twang, folk, acoustic folk, urban, lounge-style keyboards, and music with a “metro” feel. The music does not have to be fancy, just riffs along a melody, anything simple with a strong, upbeat vibe. All the recordings will be live mixes, no multitrack, no overdubs. It is preferred that all spots be instrumental-only, unless there is chanting or less distinct vocals that enhance the sound somehow.

If you’re interested, please contact Lead Engineer Speedy Gray at krbxlive@yahoo.com, our In-Studio Liaison Dave Manion at dmanion@radioboise.org or Program Director Wayne Birt at wayne@radioboise.org. The primary contact for scheduling is Speedy Gray at the above email address. The sessions will usually take place on Mondays between 3pm and 5pm. If a session needs to last longer, we can typically go later. FYI: THESE ARE NOT DROP-IN SESSIONS; MUSICIANS MUST CONTACT US AND SCHEDULE A DATE.

All recordings become property of Radio Boise But the actual compositions are to remain yours so if you have some works that are finished or in progress you can still retain the rights. We look forward to hearing from you!
